Its name is lost in the deep of the Greek Mythology, when the ancient Geeks managed with the help of Poseidon god to battle into the sea the numerous fleet of the Barbarian. Huge waves loomed over the enemy fleet giving to the beach its characteristic name.

The specific beach is situated very close to Keratea town and it distinguishes for its clear blue waters, its sandy deep sea and its wonderful pebbly seaside. The beach is ideal for every swimmer. Its south area provides the bathers with an organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, changing rooms and bars at the seaside .Its north area is offered to those who wants to enjoy the sea free without the constraints of an organized beach, either at its picturesque cove or at  the small island which creates a natural pool, not known to the public.
